A Message From Our President
It is a tremendous honor to serve as the 7th President of the International Board of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (IBSES). This role is particularly meaningful to me as I follow six remarkable leaders who have guided the organization since its founding: Charles Neer, Robert Cofield, Stephen Copeland, Louis Bigliani, Osvandre Lech, and Joseph Iannotti. Dr. Neer, founder of the Columbia Shoulder Service, the ASES, and the first President of IBSES, envisioned an organization that would bring the international shoulder community together and serve as a bridge among shoulder societies around the world.
More than three decades later, that vision remains at the heart of IBSES. I look forward to working with our Board, our international societies, and colleagues around the world to strengthen those connections and foster even greater collaboration across our shoulder and elbow community.
With the 17th ICSES in Cairo in 2029 and the 18th ICSES on the Gold Coast in 2032, we have much to be excited about. Working alongside our Board and both organizing committees, we will build upon the extraordinary legacy of the ICSES and ensure that these meetings continue to bring our international community together.
